Glee inherited her mom’s for perceiving magic, which means that she can see magic when she closes her eyes. This works in a few different ways, depending on the kind of magic she’s “looking” at.
tl;dr I’m interested in knowing whether your characters or their inventory would show up to Glee’s magic senses and, if so, what they’d look like.
- Passive magic by magical entities. Beings and items that are composed of magic (like gods and magical artifacts) are usually visible as themselves when Glee’s eyes are closed. (Ref: Sieh and Yeine in the alley in TBK; Oree’s paintings; Arameri blood-sigils; Sky’s walls.) Sometimes, the way that things look to magic-sight are different than they look to normal-sight. (Ref: Dateh looks human to normal sight, but has extra limbs to magic sight, at least when he's not suppressing it).
- Active magic. For people using magic (mortals who just happen to be employing magic at the moment) or magic sigils/items which are only “on” some of the time, they become visible at the time that they’re using magic. (Ref: Shiny, Rimarn, Oree’s perception of Glee.) For non-tangible blasts of magic, Glee perceives color that apparently depends on the nature of the user (ref: Shiny’s blast of magic in the alley is a wave of white light).
- Inactive magic. For inactive magic (e.g., a magical symbol which is not currently doing any work), Glee sees nothing with her eyes closed.
- Magical residue. Strong magic users who aren’t concealing themselves sometimes leave color trails behind.
- I don’t want to opt in! This skill is apparently super-easy to defeat, because godlings seem to turn themselves magic-sight-invisible all the time. So please feel free to not opt in to this.
- Peek-a-boo! And all of this can be defeated by physically blocking the magical item from view, e.g., putting something solid in front of it.
